Lady Warhawk softball shortstop Jordan Swindle and pitcher and first baseman Hannah Brake was named two of the NJCAA Top Region 22 returners.

As a freshman Swindle had 15 doubles, four homeruns and 33 RBIs. She was named Second Team All South Conference.

As a freshman, Brake had 15 home runs, 21 doubles and 60 RBIs. She was named First Team All South Conference Player, First Team All Region and Third Team NFCA All-American last year.

JDCC head softball coach Misti Nims said both girls are well deserving.

“Jordan Swindle is a great line-drive type hitter with a lot of power as well,” Nims said.

“Hannah Brake brings a lot of power to the plate. On the mound she possesses great movement and will keep hitters off balance.”

Nims said she is excited to see how they perform this spring.

“Both of these players will provide a lot of offense for our team,” she said. “I am excited to see how their sophomore season plays out. If last year is any indication of what’s to come, they both will be exciting to watch.”

You can catch Swindle, Brake and the rest of the JDCC softball team today, Feb. 2, versus Central Alabama CC at home at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m in a doubleheader.
