The T.R. Miller golf team took first place at Vanity Fair in Monroeville on Monday.

TRM finished with a score of 165. J.U. Blacksher finished second with 195. Monroe County finished third with 204.  Washington County finished fourth with 205.

The medalist for the match was Noah Wittington of J.U. Blacksher, who shot a 32, three under par for the Vanity Fair front nine.

For the Tigers, Tylan McDonald and Donovan Weaver led, scoring a 40. Will Smith shot a 41, Troy Hart shot a 44 and Todd Watson shot a 45.

Miller golf coach Marc Edge said he was pleased with what he saw from his team.

“I was really pleased with (McDonald) and (Weaver),” Edge said. “(McDonald) played steady all day. (Weaver) in his first varsity match was solid. He did a good job taking what the course gave him by managing it all the way around. He didn’t force it and get flustered.”

Miller will play its next match at home at the Country Club of Brewton at 3 p.m. on March 14.
