Rev. Robert Elmer Drawbaugh, 75, of East Brewton died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of York, Pa. and was a resident of Escambia County since 1963. He was the pastor of Atmore Worship Center Church, a member of Alfa Ministries, Full Gospel Fellowship Business Men, U.S. Army veteran and he was a skilled brick mason.
He is survived by his wife, Eleta Drawbaugh of East Brewton; five sons, Jimmy Ballard of East Brewton, Larry Drawbaugh and David Drawbaugh of Mobile, Bobby Drawbaugh of Scottsboro and David Dubose of Opp; three daughters, Judy Smith Drawbaugh of Brewton, Tammy Gray of Evergreen and Tonya Jandran of Berrydale, Fla.; one brother, Roy Drawbaugh of York, Pa.; five sisters, Hazel Fink of Sevens Valley, Pa., Mary Peters, Mildred Moore and Grace Gesilman, all of York, Pa. and Fannie Hilderbrand of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Carnley officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
