As they worked in preparation for last week's regional meeting with Elba, the T.R. Miller Tigers looked for answers to some question marks that arose from the previous week's loss to Andalusia.
Based on the Tigers' performance in Friday night's 27-9 victory, most of the question marks were answered. Miller head coach Jamie Riggs said his team played one of its better games of the season in the victory against a quality opponent.
In the days leading up to the Elba matchup, Riggs stressed the concept of team unity and the importance of caring for each another.
The Tigers, with a 4-2 overall record and 3-1 regional mark, have three regular season games remaining, all against Region 1 foes. The first of those three is against Friday night's homecoming opponent, the Central-Hayneville Lions.
Although the Lions enter the contest with a less than impressive 1-5 record, Riggs said they are not without some capable players.
As the Tigers prepare for a game in the festive surroundings of homecoming week, Riggs said he is confident his players would maintain a healthy balance between enjoying the week and focusing on the task at hand.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
