Mrs. Erma Elnora Nelson, 65, died Oct. 26, 2002 in New York. She was a native of Camden, Ala., a resident of Roosevelt, N.Y. for many years and a resident of Atmore for several years. She was a member of the Church of God and True Holiness in Roosevelt where she was a missionary and evangelist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Elnora Frye and her brother, Freddie Hicks.
She is survived by her husband, Wince Nelson of Roosevelt; four daughters, Shirley Russell of Atmore, Quazanay Vailes, Sharesa Storey and Tara Frye, all of Roosevelt; one son, Bobbie Joe Frye of Roosevelt; five sisters, Cassie Nichols, Dorothy Dale and Annie Williams, all of Atmore, Catherine Hughes of Brewton and Bessie Porter of Pensacola; two brothers, Arthur Frye of Camden and James Frye of Atmore; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth Holiness Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Dan Abner, Bishop Johnny J. Storey and Elder Henry Frye Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing.
