Mrs. Willie Mae McDowell, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 in a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Monroe County and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She was a member of the Deliverance Ministries of Jesus Christ in Atmore, was a Missionary and the Church Mother. She worked for the Wagon Wheel Restaurant for over 20 years as a cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Till McDowell and her parents, Man and Dovie Montgomery.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessie Price and Lena Mae McDowell, both of Atmore; three sons, Charles McDowell and David McDowell, both of Atmore and Till McDowell of Flomaton; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at Deliverance Ministries of Jesus Christ Church in Atmore with Dr. Hattie Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Stallworth Cemetery at Atmore with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
