Mrs. Catherine Smith, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 in Pearland, Texas. She was a native of Mexia, a former resident of Atmore for 40 years and a resident of Pearland for the past four years. She was a retired employee from Vanity Fair after 42 years and attended the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Arvin Smith.
She is survived by her son, Doug Smith of Pearland; three brothers, Clark Hayes of Pascagoula, Miss., Roy Hayes of Sulfur, La. and Doug Hayes of Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, Carrie Jay and Annie Jean Davis, both of Uriah and Edna Davis of Pascagoula; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
