Mrs. Gladys Marie Knowles, 74, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Escambia County since the age of 16. She was a homemaker and attended Halls Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest "Roy" Knowles; her son, Marcus Earl Knowles and her grandson, Chris Agerton.
She is survived by three sons, John Paul Knowles of Loxley and David Leroy Knowles and Jimmy Wayne Knowles, both of Flomaton; a daughter, Dorothy Mulder of Flomaton; three sisters, Geraldine Enzor and Mona Nargason, both of Creola and Bernice Whitten of Saraland; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Anthony Knowles, Marcus Knowles, Brandon Agerton, Keith Agerton, Brad Knowles and Sammy Emmons.
