Mrs. Cannie Hayles, 81, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at a Mobile hospital. She was a native of Eliska, Ala. and a resident of Perdido for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and attended the Holiness church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henson Hayles and a son, Gary Hayles.
She is survived by four sons, John A. Hayles of Dothan, Joe Hayles of Bay Minette, Jackie Hayles of Livingston, LA. and Larry Hayles of Stockton; four daughters, Estelle Bartley and Barbara Ann Holman of Perdido, Ruby Sager of Mexia and Sarah Garrett of Bay Minette; her sister, Birdie Melton of Frisco City; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Ricky Sager, Jeff Hayles, Dennis Garrett, Joseph Hayles, Jeremy Hayles and Ronnie Ryland.
