Rev. Oscar Evon Ingram, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 at a local hospital. He was a native of Magee, Miss. and a resident of Atmore for the past ten years. He was pastor of Sardis Baptist Church and had been a pastor in Fla., Miss. and Ala. for the past 56 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ingram of Atmore; his son, Charles Ingram of Mobile and his daughter, Elsa Williams of Mobile.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James Ivy, Rev. Jerry Keese and Rev. Pat Andrews officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Joe Bell, Ed Bean, Payton Williams, George Hendricks, Luverne Seales and Jimmy Glass. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Barrow, Charles Booker, Bob Ausguard and David Matheny.
