The Brewton Police Department has back in its custody a man who escaped from the city jail on Tuesday.
Johnny Addison, 28, of Brooks Street was put back behind city jail bars on Thursday after police received an anonymous tip of his whereabouts. Police responded to a residence located at 901 Lovelace Ave. There they found Addison and arrested him once again.
According to Police Chief David Lovelace, the police had that particular home under surveillance since shortly after the time Addison went missing.
The occupant of the Lovelace Avenue home is Pauline McLemore. Due to her cooperation in the investigation, Lovelace said there would be no charges brought against her.
Addison left the city jail on Tuesday after he was let out of the jail at approximately 9 a.m. to make a phone call. He was in custody after being picked up Tuesday morning for a violation of a protection order issued by the district court. He had been released from the city jail last week after serving a 125 days on other charges.
Lovelace said he did not consider Addison dangerous.
In addition to the previous charge, Addison now faces an escape, second degree charge which is a felony.
