Mrs. Alberta "Shirley" Flavors, 54, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 in a Mobile hospital. She was a native of Montgomery and a lifetime resident of Atmore. She was a member of Jones Street Holiness Church where she was a member of the Senior Usher Board, supervisor of the Junior Usher Board, member of the Pastor's Aide Committee and a prominent member of the Appreciation Committee. She had worked at a nursing home, as a clerk and cashier for TG&Y Department Store and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Bernice Gray.
She is survived by her husband, Cary L. Flavors Sr. of Atmore; one son, Cary L. Flavors Jr. of Atmore; two daughters, Santanya Flavors and Theresa Lee, both of Atmore; two sisters, Barbara Gray of Great Neck, NY and Louise Franklin of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Austin Gray and Earl Gray, both of Atmore and Otis Gray of Westbury, NY and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 3, from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Jones Street Holiness Church with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Lucious or Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
