Mrs. Mattie Lou Coleman, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 at a Monroeville hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Uriah. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Uriah. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dave Bush; her sisters, Josephine Gardner and Ulla Mae Bush; her husband, William Coleman; her son, William Coleman Jr. and her parents, Edith and Vanderbuilt Bush.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Joe Wallace and Dorothy Nichols, both of Uriah and Bobby Faye Moorer of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four sons, Johnny Lee Coleman of Mobile, Dan Coleman of Uriah, Hilbert Coleman of Atmore and James Coleman of Tallahassee; one sister, Betty Dirden of Atmore and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 17, from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Uriah with Dr. Van McPherson, pastor of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church of Atmore officiating. Burial will follow at Uriah Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
