Norman C. Calhoun

Mr. Norman C. Calhoun, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 in a Lake City, Fla. after an extended illness. He was known as the "Bait Man", was a native of Dixonville and a lifelong resident of East Brewton. He was a member of East Brewton Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and a retired prison guard from the State of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Calhoun.
He is survived by three sons, Leon Calhoun of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Lloyd Calhoun of Opp and Jerry Calhoun of Atlanta; one step-son, Tom Wilcox of Crestview, Fla.; one daughter, Yvonnw Bradford of Lake City; one step-daughter, Tonya Calhoun of Atlanta; six brothers, Maxwell Calhoun and Amon Calhoun, both of Milton, John Calhoun of Riverview, Dale Calhoun of Dixonville, Bobe Calhoun of Florida and Fred Calhoun of Ft. Walton Beach; two sisters, Winnie Lois McCurdy and Betty Calhoun, both of Dixonville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Seventy Earnie Calhoun officiating. Burial followed at Dixonville Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
