William Arthur Blackwell

Mr. William Arthur Blackwell, 78, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Range. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Range Assembly of God and the Repton Masonic Lodge 575. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lanier Blackwell and Raphael Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Blackwell of Range; two sons, James Hall and Darrell Hall, both of Brewton; four daughters, Alma Jordan and Wanda Green, both of Range, Peggy Baggett of Atlanta and Emma George of Goodway, Ala.; two brothers, Cecil Blackwell of Range and Mason Blackwell of Brewton; two sisters, Florine Knowles and Gladys Myrick, both of Flomaton; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Craver's Funeral Home chapel Monday, Feb.3, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Willie Renfro officiating. Burial followed at Hartwood Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Brian Meadows, Stephen Levins, Arnez Knowles, Tommy Blackmon, Tony Blackmon and Derrick Blackmon. Honorary pallbearer was Jake Blackwell.
