Over the past week's action on the hardwood floor, the Jefferson Davis Warhawks gained a conference road win against Marion Military and played conference leading Enterprise State tough before being overtaken in the second half.
As the Warhawks enter the last two weeks of their regular season schedule before beginning play in the postseason regional tournament, their season record is 5-20 while their conference mark stands at 3-7.

As the Warhawks traveled to meet Marion Military Institute in a Feb. 10 conference matchup, they were coming off a win on Feb. 6 and looked to make the hosts their second victim in a row.
Getting balanced scoring from their starters, Jefferson Davis successfully completed the mission they set out to accomplish. Four players registered double-digit scoring totals in a 73-60 win that was the second in the Warhawks' last three games.
In the opening 20 minutes of the game, JDCC gained the advantage early and gradually pulled away to a comfortable halftime lead. With the defense forcing Marion to work hard for every point and the offense performing at a steady pace, the Warhawks took a 35-23 lead into the halftime break.
Marion refused to fold in the second half, but the Warhawks remained comfortably ahead as they remained focused on the task at hand. A 12-point JDCC lead at the halfway point was increased to 13 points by game's end.
Warhawks scoring in double figures were Greg Dickinson, 14 points; Brandon Montgomery, 12 points; Kenny Thompson, 11 points and Ray Lewis, 11 points.
Enterprise State 100 Warhawks 76
In a Feb. 13 meeting with Enterprise State Community College at Warhawks Gym, JDCC had intentions of securing their third straight win against the leading team in the conference.
In a hard-nosed affair that was contested much more evenly than the final score would indicate, the Warhawks took it to Enterprise for three quarters of the game. But, the visitors showed why they are the front-runners of the conference as they rallied to shoot down JDDC's hopes of an upset.
In a first half that seesawed back and forth between the two teams, the Warhawks' mounted several intense rallies that were answered with equal determination by Enterprise State. Entering the break, Enterprise held a slim 44-40 advantage.
The second half began in the same manner as the first had been played, as the teams swapped baskets in an attempt to gain the upper hand. However, Enterprise went on a huge run midway through the half to open a lead the Warhawks simply could not overcome. As the buzzer sounded to end the game, Enterprise State further strengthened their conference lead with a 100-76 victory.
Offensive leaders for the Warhawks were Greg Dickinson, 27 points; Jamal Carson, 17 points; and Kenny Thompson, 10 points and nine rebounds.
