Mr. Roscoe Franklin Johnson, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 in a local hospital. He was a native of Century and had been a resident of Frisco City and a member of the Mexia community since 1990. He was retired from Monsanto as an instrument technician and from Alabama River Pulp Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maggie Hendley Johnson and a sister, Ida Johnson Neufield.
He is survived by a daughter, Sonya Annette Johnson Sawyer of Excel; a son, Ken Franklin Johnson of Century; a brother, Aubrey "Blue" Johnson of Century; three sisters, Margie Johnson Crispi of Reedley, Ga., Mary Johnson Boyd and Angie Johnson Henrickson, both of Pensacola; former wife, Barbara Greenwell Johnson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth E. Johnson and Rev. Earl Green officiating. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Melvin Johnson, Earl Johnson, James Campbell, Billy Campbell, Tommy Greenwell Sr., Roger Greenwell, Kenny Rigby and Charlie Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Johnson, Clyde Johnson, David Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Shane White and Carroll Sawyer.
