Mr. Clyde Carlton Padgett, 66, of Brewton died Friday, March 7, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Conecuh County and a resident of Brewton since 1958. He was a retired wood yard operator with Jefferson Smurfit Corporation with 33 years of service and was a member of the Appleton Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shelbie Hall Padgett of Brewton; two sons, Bill Padgett and Jimmy Dale Padgett, both of Brewton; two step-sons, Terry Blair of Camden, Ala. and James Blair of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Patricia Ann Cole and Ruby Jean Padgett, both of Brewton; two step-daughters, Rhonda Doss of Valley, Ala. and Amanda Palmer of Middleburg, Fla.; one brother, Aubrey Dean Padgett of Evergreen; one sister, Delores Imogene Russell of Montgomery; six grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Pettis and Rev. Larry Hart officiating. Burial followed at Glory Hill Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
