Mr. Charles Ray McLellan Sr., 68, died Monday, March 24, 2003 in an Evergreen hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Butler County and a lifelong resident of Brewton. He was a retired boiler operator with Jefferson Smurfit Corporation with 33 and one half years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion and National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Randy Crawford and Marshall Crawford.
He is survived by his mother, Lou McLellan of Brewton; his wife, Ernestine Spann of McLellan of Brewton; two sons, Ray McLellan and Robert McLellan, both of Brewton; three daughters, Cheryl Crawford and Sheila McLellan, both of Brewton and Shirley Shehan of Evergreen; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Caylor officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
