Mr. Frank Millard Norsworthy, 87, died Monday, April 14, 2003 in a Pensacola hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Brewton and was a home builder in Brewton. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Air Force. He served on the Board of Directors for Southern Pine Electric Cooperative for a number of years and was a charter member of Habitat for Humanity in Brewton. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton and shared his talents on numerous mission trips. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Norsworthy and three sisters, Edna Carter, Emma Lou Barrow and Eva Ruth Huff.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Norsworthy of Brewton; two sons, Douglas Norsworthy and Don Norsworthy, both of Brewton; two daughters, Freida Blanton of Mobile and Joanna Donald of Irvington; one brother, Douglas Norsworthy of Raymond, Miss.; three sisters, Clara Downing of Brewton, Sally Stokes of East Brewton and Mary Wyatt of Dixonville, Fla.; a half sister, Lyda Lewis of Panama City, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with Rev. John Finklea and Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Phillip Norsworthy, Will Blanton, Michael Blanton, Wesley Donald, Gary Huff and Frank Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Long, Carol Nall, Floyd Smith, Eddie Smith, George Grover, Frank Stoshak, Jerry Brown, Tom Williamson, Will Rogers and members of his Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alabama Baptist Children's Home.
