Mr. Elbert Ray Lambert, 69, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at his residence. He was a native of Monroeville and a resident of Atmore for many years. He had worked as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanchet Lambert; his parents, Charlie and Pinkney Lambert; a daughter, Dianna Harris and a son, Troy Harris.
He is survived by six daughters, Barbara Rabb, Dorene Lambert and Yolanda Etheridge, all of Atmore, Pinkey Frye of Atlanta, Lorene Lankford of Miss. and Shirley Crenshaw of Pa.; six sons, Elbert Lambert Jr., Zackery Harris, both of Atmore, Willie Johnson of Pensacola, Eddie Lambert of Iowa, Anthony Lambert of Union Springs and Carlos Rabb of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Betty Daily and Alma Boggan, both of Atmore and Vernon Dickerson of Mobile; one brother, James Lambert of Calif.; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one godchild, Charlotte Brown of Atmore.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9, from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Atmore with Bishop Charlie Etheridge officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services.
