The East Brewton City Council wants some residents to take better care of their lawns and homes.
Several councilmembers asked Mayor Terry Clark about certain houses and what could be done to persuade those homeowners to cut their grass and clean up.
East Brewton Compliance Officer Lawton Shipp, who attended the meeting, was asked by Clark to check in with some of the homeowners and to follow up on previous warnings.
Shipp said that the City of East Brewton does have an ordinance in regard to unkempt grass and that homeowners are risking a hefty fine when they allow their grass to get too high.
Shipp said that if a homeowner is unable to cut their grass they should call the city hall and let them know.
