A's defeat Cubs to take first place in EB 9-10-year-olds

Entering the final week of the East Brewton Little League's regular season, the Athletics and Cubs shared the 9-10 year-old division lead with 4-2 records and met to determine which would emerge as champions.
In a tight, seesaw battle held on June 2, the two teams locked-up in a high-scoring game that was a fitting ending to the season.
The Cubs outhit the A's by an 11 to 5 margin on their way to building a sizable early advantage. But, midway through the contest the A's began mounting a comeback that would eventually overtake the lead. When the dust settled, the A's found themselves on the top end of a 13-12 score and in possession of the 9-10 year-old championship crown.
Reid Johnson earned the win for the Ahtletics, going the distance while allowing 11 hits and striking out 12 batters.
Offensive leaders for the A's were Joseph Strength, 2-for-3 with two runs scored; Reid Johnson, 1-for-3 with two runs scored and Monterius Culliver, three runs scored.
Leading the Cubs' offense were Logan Williamson, 2-for-3 with three runs scored; John McDaniel, 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Antonio Hall, two runs scored.
