Mrs. Hilma Coleman Melton, 93, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 in a Mobile hospital. She was a native and life long resident of Excel and a member of Excel Baptist Church. She taught piano for many years at Excel High School, and schools in Goodway and Huxford.
She is survived by two daughters, Frieda Flores of Mobile and Kaye D'Aquila of Monterey, Calif.; one brother, Angus Mason of Brewton; a sister, Vida Baas of Excel; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at Excel Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Dean officiating. Burial followed at Excel Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville directing.
