Mr. Willis (Speedy) McDaniel, 86, died Friday, July 4, 2003 in a local nursing facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Randolph County and a long-time resident of Brewton. He was a member of Brewton First United Methodist Church and a retired loan officer with BankTrust of Brewton. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Aubrey McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife, Helon Shell McDaniel of Brewton; a son, Charles McDaniel of Brewton, a daughter-in-law, Beverly Beal McDaniel; two sisters, Nan Sherrer of Enterprise and Lillie Belle Cochrane of Moncks Corner, S.C.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held Sunday, July 6, at 4:30 p.m. at Union Cemetery with Rev. Gary Daniel officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Memorial services were held Sunday, July 6, at 5 p.m. at Brewton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Daniel officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
