Dear Editor,
My wife and I would like to thank everyone in Brewton for all the support given to us during my recent deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Many of my shipmates were not as fortunate as I in receiving support from home. Some lost wages, opportunities for advancement at work and family insurance benefits. It was comforting to know we didn't have to deal with those additional problems.
We would like to thank Dr. Susan McBride and the staff at JDCC for taking on the extra workload during my absence, Rotary, Kiwanis and Brewton Country Clubs for the relief and support they provided and St. Maurice Catholic Church and all the citizens of Brewton for their constant support in keeping us in their thoughts and prayers.
Unfortunately, war is a consequence that occurs to ensure certain freedoms and I was proud to serve my country during that time. Please remember all of the soldiers still fighting-they're there because they love their country.
Knowing the level of patriotism that exists in our community makes us proud to say we are from Brewton. God Bless the United States of America and Brewton, Alabama!
