Rev. Claude E. Collins, 78, died Friday, July 25, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Brinson, Ga. and a resident of Escambia County, Ala. since 1975. He was a retired minister having served at East Brewton Assembly of God Church and Dogwood Hill Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, April Grice.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Hurston Collins of Brewton; a son, Danny C. Collins of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Carolyn Grice of Brewton and two brothers, Rev. W. H. Collins of Phenix City and James L. Collins of Orlando, Fla.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. David Edenfield, Rev. Thomas Quick, Rev. Kenneth Collins, Rev. Shelvie Summerlain and Rev. Henry Collins officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
