Rev. William Travis "W.T." Barnes, 66, died Friday, July 25, 2003 in a local hospital. He was a native of Escambia County, Ala. and had lived in Castleberry for the past four years. He was a member of the U.S. Marines. He was a pastor of Castleberry Baptist Church and served as a missionary in a number of countries, including the Philippines and Honduras.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Barnes of Castleberry, a step-son, Kenneth Hultz of East Brewton; a brother, Frank Barnes of Brewton; a sister, Ann Hillman of Brewton; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Rev. Bert Bounds and Rev. Bryan Garrett officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
