Tripp Owens of Brewton recently captured the Junior Tournament Title in the 15-16 year old category of the Greenville Country Club Invitational Golf Tournament.
After 18 holes of regulation play, Owens' score was 71 and earned him the win. The top three players in the 15-16 year old and 17-18 year old divisions then played an additional nine holes to complete the 27 hole event. The additional holes were played to determine an overall winner.
Owens held a five stroke lead then fired a 38, which earned him the title of Overall Champion.
Owens also participated in the 58th State Junior Championship tournament held at the Gadsden Country Club recently.
He shot rounds of 77, 76, 72 (225) for the three-day event. He finished in 10th place.
The fifteen-year-old Owens, will be a sophomore at T.R. Miller High this year.
