Troy State University presented degrees to nearly 200 students during summer commencement ceremonies held Aug. 8 in Sartain Hall.
Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr., chancellor, presented 126 bachelors and 69 masters degrees to students in the College of Arts and Sciences, Sorrell College of Business, College of Communication and Fine Arts, College of Education, and College of Health and Human Services.
TSU Provost Fred Davis delivered the keynote address. Davis, who joined TSU as an English professor in 1970 and has announced plans to retire from full-time service in December, was honored for his service with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.
Troy State University offers associate, bachelors, masters and education specialist degrees. It is the main campus of the Troy State University System, which also operates a branch campus and two independently accredited universities in Alabama and maintains degree programs at more than 50 sites in 14 states and nine foreign nations. The TSU System serves more than 20,000 students.
