SUV, train collide here Thursday

Brewton Police were called to the scene of an accident Thursday morning. The accident involved a 1990 Subaru and a CSX train at the downtown crossing of Hwys. 31 and 41.
According to Brewton Police officer Lt. Randy Nicholson, Teresa Harlow of Brewton attempted to cross the railroad tracks around 9 a.m. morning.
Nicholson stated that Harlow was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital. According to a hospital spokesperson, she was treated and released.
According to witness, drivers in the downtown area were delayed in their travel as a result of the incident.
Traffic detoured around the traffic jam at crossings away from the incident and under the tracks along Ann Street.
There was no damage to traffic signals because of the incident.
There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. No other automobiles were involved in the incident according to reports.
