The W.S. Neal Blue Eagles will be playing host to the Andalusia Bulldogs on Friday night as the team holds its annual Kick-Off Classic.
The game, which has become an annual event, will give the players a chance to get into some action.
According to head coach Shane Smothers, the team is ready to get going with the season at hand.
The season opener will be held against Hillcrest High School of Evergreen on August 29. Smothers says he hopes that the Kick-Off Classic will help to continue to prepare the team for that game.
Also planned for the Kick-Off Classic event will be a half-time show performance by the Neal High School Band.
The band, which recently completed a week-long camp, has been preparing a presentation for fans during half-time.
According to band members the show will feature a Secret Agent opening theme followed by a tribute to the Bee-Gees. The show will close with a patriotic theme.
The Kick-Off Classic will begin with kick-off at 7 p.m. against the Andalusia Bulldogs at the W.S. Neal High School football field. The Quarterback Club and Band Boosters will be offering concessions during the event.
The W.S. Neal Band Boosters Club will host a Kick-Off Classic dance in the school's old gymnasium immediately following the game. The dance will be open to middle school and high school aged students at a cost of $5 per person.
