Mrs. Florence Cornelia Covan, 99, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003. She was a native of Shelby County, Ala. and had been a resident of the area for more than 50 years. She had been a textile worker during her working years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Covan; her daughters, Jayne Elizabeth Wood and Doris Ellison; four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Louzine Mosley of Century; three sisters, Ongeline Conway of Grand Bay, Virginia Conway of Sylacauga and Lula Mae Burch of Birmingham; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. at Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Century with Rev. Joe Lee, Rev. Sherill and Rev. Billy Cloud officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Joey Forman, Melvin Lowery, Ricky Lowery, Steve Cox, Radford Covan and R.K. McLain Jr.
