Brewton youth participate in jamboree

Brewton players in the Emerald Coast Youth Sports Association (ECYSA) traveled to Northview on Saturday to participate in a Football Jamboree.
According to Thomas Watson, the Brewton Mini-Mite team won their competition against the team of Northwest Escambia and lost the competition against Cantonment.
In the first game of the Mini-Mites, the final score was Brewton 14, Northwest Escambia 0.
Darryus Jackson scored the two touchdowns of the game running 65 yards for one and 24 yards for the second.
In game two of the Mini-Mites, the Cantonment team came out on top by a score of 14-6. In that game Treylon Watson scored the only points for the team with a 31 yard run.
The Brewton Mites team also played two games with one win and one loss.
In game one, the Mites beat the Northwest Escambia team by a score of 12-0. Anthony Herbert scored on a run of 42 yards. Michael Puryear scored on a 65 yard run to finish the scoring efforts of the team.
In game two of the Mites action, Brewton's team lost to Cantonment by a score of 18-6. In that game Michael Puryear scored the only touchdown running 33 yards for the points.
The Brewton Midgets also faced the Northwest Escambia team in their first of two games. Brewton won that game by a score of 14-0. Cortez Banks put the first score on the board after a 75 yard touchdown run. Kenneth Fountain finished the scoring with a 55 yard touchdown run to give the team a win.
In game two of Midgets action, Cantonment was their opponent. No scores came in the game.
Action continues for the ECYSA teams next week.
