Mrs. Mattie L. Brown, 82, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003. She was a native and life-long resident. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her children, Annie Watson and Alfonsie Watson.
She is survived by two sons, Willie M. Brown and Alvin Watson, both of Brewton; a granddaughter that she raised, Allison Brown of Brewton; one sister, Pearlene Chappell of Brewton; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church with Rev. Luzell Stallworth officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
