Beattie, Crosby married in March

Diana Jean Crosby and Spencer Tyson Beattie were married March 15, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Historic Donnelly House in Birmingham. Dr. Dean Martin officiated at the ceremony which was by candlelight in an outside garden.
The bride is the daughter of Jean Crosby and Elton Crosby, both of Brewton. She is the granddaughter of Jessie Lee Janes of Castleberry, the late John Wilton Janes and the late Claude and Clara Crosby of Brewton.
The groom is the son of John and Cathy Beattie of Birmingham. He is the grandson of Catherine Tyson of Atlanta, Ga., Jack Tyson of Cedar Key, Fla., Jean Beattie of Birmingham and the late Fran Beattie.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white A-line gown with an empire waist, buttons down the cathedral train with beading on the bodice and bottom of the train. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Monica Donohoe, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and Gina Crosby, sister of the bride was the maid of honor. Other attendants were Joy Childress and Bridget Beattie, the groom's sister. The attendants chose their own black dresses and carried bouquets of varying colors or red roses.
John Beattie, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Clay Childress; Brian Beattie, cousin of the groom and Greg Donohoe, the bride's brother-in-law.
Tommy Ferrell, Aaron McDonald and Kurt Michel served as ushers.
Tek-Neck Band provided music and Mrs. Lovell played piano for the ceremony and reception held at Historic Donnelly House.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by John and Cathy Beattie at The Summit Club in Birmingham.
After a honeymoon in St. John, the couple now resides in Birmingham.
