The Escambia County Sheriff's Dept. has purchased four new Sony Mavica FD100 digital cameras thanks to its success in the recent Click it or Ticket incentive program.
The department was awarded $3,000 through the Alabama Dept. of Economic and Community Affairds in recognition of a first place finish in the law enforcement incentive and recognition program.
In addition to the $3,000 prize, money awarded by the Southeast Alabama Medical Center's 'Click it or Ticket' coordinator will provide four new in-car video camera, three radars, three alco-breath sensors, 20 traffic cones and four checkpoint signs.
Checkpoints were set up at select spots to check seatbelt usage during the campaign.
