Mr. Marion Braxton Rhodes, 68, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at his residence in Dixonville after an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala. and a retired building superintendent with the county with 25 years of service. He served as Associate Pastor of Bethel Mennonite Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Rhodes Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Fry Rhodes of Dixonville; two sons, Rodney Rhodes of Brewton and Dusty Rhodes of Dixonville; two daughters, Marian Stutzman of Birmingham and Miriam Pitts of Brewton; one sister, Jewel Stanley of Milton, Fla. and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.D. Landis and Rev. John Kemp officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
