Senior scores 15 straight in set two, 24 for match

Just when Escambia County seemed to be building some momentum to get back in the match, T.R. Miller Lady Tigers senior middle hitter Kristin Bradley took it away.
Bradley's 15 consecutive service points in set two and 24 for the match powered T.R. Miller to a 25-12, 25-9, 25-16 victory over the visiting Lady Blue Devils Thursday.
At the time of Bradley's set two service string, Escambia County had taken a 7-4 lead in its bid to tie up the match. Eight of her points in that decisive run were aces.
Bradley's serving excellence was more than just the second set string. She also had seven points in the opening set, which included the final five with one ace.
"They had some defensive problems, but at the same time Kristin did a good job of finding the holes in their defense," Lady Tigers coach Sharon Peacock said.
Junior middle hitter Erin Byrne had a more modest eight service points for the match, but she ended the match with a string of six consecutive tallies. Five of those final six went for aces.
Sophomore setter Terri Lynne Peacock also played a key role in the match. Peacock also had eight points for the match, which included the final five in the second set win. Yet her biggest contribution may have been her seemingly endless energy and hustle level.
The win boosted the Lady Tigers season record to 4-6.
T.R. Miller dropped a 25-13, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 decision at home to the Flomaton Lady Hurricanes Tuesday.
In its lone set victory, Terri Lynne Peacock led the T.R. Miller attack with six service points, four of which were consecutive. Rebekah Neal added three.
T.R. Miller was able to hang close in set three despite the fact it never served more than two consecutive points on any service.
The Lady Tigers had their chances in the fourth and final set, as they forced ties at 18-18, 19-19, 21-21 and 22-22. The last two deadlocks occurred after a defensive point and a service by Neal. Two key items late in the set, which gave Flomaton the victory, were a missed serve and a hitting error.
