Mr. Curtis Avis "Curt" Tennant, 71, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 in Birmingham. He was a native of Atmore, a former resident of Niceville and Valpraiso, Fla. and a resident of Atmore. He was a 1957 Auburn graduate and was head of Millimeter Wave Department at Eglin AFB. He designed the Laser Guided Missile System and attended First Baptist Church of Atmore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Florence Tennant and a brother, Dr. Harold Tennant.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Edith Tennant of Atmore; four sons, John Tennant of Opelika, Rodney Tennant of the U.S. Navy, Harold Tennant of Savannah, Ga. and Donald Tennant of Dublin, Ohio; four daughters, Beverly Tennant of Charlotte, N.C., Norma Best of Shalimar, Fla. Karie Grant of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. and Mandy Matthews of Atmore; a sister, Nell Thomas of Atmore; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Don Davis and Rev. Udell Meyers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Hooper Matthews, Glenn Best, Doug Heathcock, Fred Heathcock, David Arwin, A.J. Monroe and Floyd Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Jaye, Larry Mitchell, Gordan White, Ed Brown, Arnold Amos and Aubrey Amos.
