John Dilmore Jr. has joined The Brewton Standard as managing editor.
He joins the newspaper after moving from Mississippi where he served as editor and publisher at several newspapers before joining the staff in the public relations department at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where he served as director of news and marketing.
Publisher Bill Crist said he was excited about bringing someone with Dilmore's experience to the newspaper.
Dilmore served as editor and publisher of the Scott (Miss.) County Times and the Advertiser News after working as a reporter and assistant editor at the Northside (Miss.) Sun. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.
