Mrs. Sophia Ann "Lizzie" Smith, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 in a Jay, Fla. hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Conecuh County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was of the Holiness faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith and two daughters, Agnes Graves and Jennie Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Christine Elizabeth Skipper and Barbara Cardwell, both of Brewton and Dorothy Portwood of East Brewton; a sister, Nancy Kirkland of Castleberry; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Wiggins and Rev. Michael Skipper officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Williams Memorial
