It was a familiar, but frustrating pattern for the W.S. Neal Lady Blue Eagles volleyball team.
W.S. Neal had some stretches of good play wiped out by a few bad moments. That combination added up to two setbacks at Saturday's Escambia County Tournament held at Atmore.
The Lady Blue Eagles (2-15) fell in the opening match to Escambia County 25-18, 22-25, 25-8, 25-18.
The serving of Amanda Ziglar was a big part of W.S. Neal's set two win, as she had a string of 11 straight points. She finished with 13 total for the set.
Ziglar was also a key contributor for the Lady Blue Eagles throughout the match. She had five points in the opening set and six more in the fourth set to finish with 24 for the match.
Northview (Fla.) High School got the best of W.S. Neal 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 in its second game.
Jennifer Partridge led the Lady Blue Eagles with five points in the opening set, while Brittany Tagudar matched that total in set two. Ziglar posted four in set three. Jullian Crutchfield had a team high three kills.
