Mrs. Johnnie Belle Hallford Batson, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 at her residence on Hwy. 29 after an extended illness. She was a native of Butler County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and a retired bookkeeper from Farmer's Exchange with 20 years of service.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Ray Batson of Brewton; two sisters, Lillie Stone of Brewton and Voncile Barnes of East Brewton; a grandson; a great-grandson and a step-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill Baptist Church in East Brewton with Rev. Thomas White officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
