Mrs. Aileen Fretwell Smith Pettis, 77, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Perdido and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of Alco Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Donnie Smith of Mobile; three daughters, Linda Beasley and Brenda Gibson, both of East Brewton and Judy Crane of Brewton; one brother, Ted Fretwell of Uriah; four sisters, Audrey Poston of Toledo, Ohio,Greta Baggett of Pace, Fla., Ruby Stewart of Bay Minette and Lois Strawbridge of Atmore; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. E.A. Millican and Rev. Wayne Fails officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
