In an effort to better serve clients and to be more readily accessible, your local Red Cross Chapter is pleased to announce relocation plans. We will be moving the office to 1013 Douglas Avenue. Flat ground, no steps. We are so excited to be able to better meet the needs of those clients who are disabled or have difficulty with climbing steps.
Please look for our signs -- the office will be located in the area between the Citi Financial location and the Hines Realty offices. We plan to be serving your needs at the new location the first full week of November. Until then, we are available at the Courthouse Annex, downtown next to the Courthouse.
Please drop by for quicker access to brochures, health and safety information, flip charts, and other items not previously available. Drop by just to say hello.
Linda Farrish will have an office there and will continue meeting the needs as she has previously. Volunteers, Lillie Nearor, Rose McGowin, and Maggie Dozier will continue to assist the public, as well as myself.
To those wonderful volunteers who would like to have been able to help but were unable to reach us, please come by and check out the new location. New volunteers are needed specifically for Melanie's Closet, Computer Input, Youth Programs, Administrative filing, Bookkeeping, and phone work. There are other areas of service available also. And if you want to help settle the new offices, we'd love to have you drop by.
Before closing this note, we'd like to thank Larry White and the County Commissioners for housing the Chapter for the last 10-plus years. We will miss the folks in the building, but being able to better serve the public through accessibility is important and has been an ongoing need for several years.
