Mr. Lindsey Edward Philyaw, 65, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at a Milton, Fla. hospital. He was a native of Conecuh County and had been a resident of Atmore for most of his life. He had worked as a farmer and was of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Jean Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel Wilson Philyaw of Atmore; two daughters, Shirley Weaver of Atmore and Cathy Wilson of Milton, Fla.; a step-son, William Lee Rigby III of Germany; a step-daughter, Jennifer Frazier of Atmore; a sister, Paulene Cooper of Flomaton; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny "Bubba" Abrams and Rev. Dale Bennett officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Richard Booth, Dudley Wilson, Dudley Flowers, Pete Harrelson, Mack Harrison and Buck Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Morrow and Curtis Rackard.
