Mr. James L. "Coo Lou" Thomas, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003 at an Atmore hospital. He was a native and resident of Atmore for many years. He had worked as a cement finisher in the construction industry for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elouise Thomas-James and J.G. Waters.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie L. Thomas of Jacksonville, Ark.; one son, Ronnie D. Thomas of Mobile; two sisters, Frances Waters of Phoenix City, Ariz. and Pearl Lambert of Atmore; 14 grandchildren and five step-daughters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel of Remembrance in Atmore with Bishop Jimmy C. Wilson, pastor of Holy Community Holiness Church officiating. Burial followed at Lucious Cemetery in Atmore with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
