Brewton man killed when he loses control of tractor

A Brewton man was killed Wednesday when the tractor he was riding while performing routine clean-up tasks at his home turned over and caught fire.
Melvin Hall, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Hall lived at 100 Cun-ningham Rd.
According to Major Mike Murphy, of the Escambia Coun-ty Sheriff's Office (ECSO), Hall was apparently using his tractor to pull up shrubbery at his home when the vehicle flipped over on him.
The accident occurred at ap-proximately 1:12 p.m.
Responding to the accident in addition to the sheriff's office were McMillan EMS, the Brew-ton Police Department, and the Brewton Fire Department.
Hall was pronounced dead at 1:35.
His remains will be transported to Mobile so that an autopsy can be conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sci-ences.
