CitiFinancial's Brewton Alabama office, located at 1014 Douglas Avenue, has secured a Citigroup Foundation Grant in the amount of $5,000 for the Brewton Area YMCA Changing Lives Campaign.
Linda Barnett, manager for CitiFinancial's Brewton office, applied for the money and presented the check to Dan Shaddock, Director of the YMCA.
The Local Contributions Program, funded by the Citigroup Foundation, was begun in 1990, as the Travelers Foundation Grants, in order to provide assistance to non-profit community projects in areas where CitiFinancial offices are located. Worthy programs are identified by local managers, who recommend grants for programs or projects deemed vital to their community.
Criteria for selection are that an organization's programs must be open to everyone in need of its services without restriction, and the organization itself must be an official "not for profit" operation.
CitiFinancial, a financial service company specializing in customer loans, has been in business since 1912 and currently has over 2,000 offices across the United States and Canada.
